If you must see new releases on the silver screen, follow these recommendations to get the most for your money:
1. Join a club. Rewards include: free drink, free popcorn, free movie.
The biggest reward is a free drink, popcorn AND a free movie ticket.
2. Stay away from concession stands. Prices are ridiculously high.
3. Go to the movies before six pm, if possible. Matinee presentations are discounted.
4. Go to discounted presentations. There are theaters that will show older movies (usually two months old) in exchange for a significantly lower admission fee.
These theaters can charge as low as $1.75. Some establishments even run specials one day a week: only $1.
Note: There are also movie theaters showing up-to-date pictures for a lower admission fee than the big movie chains.
